The Lily Collins Look: Boyish Brows, Barely-There Makeup

I may not be a fan of Mirror, Mirror, but I do think Lily Collins is a heart-stoppingly adorable girl. She almost looks cherubic sometimes.

Skin:

Her lovely freckles show most of the time so you want to keep your base very light and natural. A light powder foundation would work if you want to mimic her look, since she glows but seldom ever looks dewy.

Cheeks:

Lily uses a warm pink powder blush with salmon or terracotta undertones, and there is seldom any noticeable shine, so go for low-shimmer or matte textures. Try The Balm Frat Boy or Revlon Blushing Berry Matte Blush.

Brows:

If your brows are ok but need just a little filling in, try stroking the hairs lightly with a taupe pencil to darken and mimic the appearance of fullness. (Shu Uemura Hard Formula 9 is one of the best for this purpose, as it NEVER looks harsh or fake.)

If you have sparse brows, you might want to try a brow marker or a more pigmented pencil (MAC, Anastacia, Benefit). Draw very light feathery strokes to imitate the appearance of natural hairs. For tips on how to do it, watch Sam Chapman do it EXPERTLY here.

Eyes:

Lily’s eyes are where she has the most makeup, typically. But she does tend to stay very neutral and light-handed with her shadows. Most of the time it’s a very soft matte brown like MAC Cork shadow.

When she wants to glam it up, she lines her eyes all around with a very black pencil and applies heaps of mascara on both top and bottom lashes. (She has amazingly full, dark lashes. If you need to, wear wispy lashes to mimic the fullness she has.

Lips:

Despite her “lips red as rose, skin as far as snow, hair as black as ebony” role, the young actress has a less dramatic coloring in real life (her hair goes from dark blonde, to brown, to auburn) and tends to favor a soft pink-nude lip most of the time. (Try MAC Blankety or Faux for a heavy-neutral look.)

She seldom ever wears gloss or sparkle, opting for a satiny or creamy finish instead.

I find this to be me pretty much, make-up wise. I like bolder colours in clothing tho.
