LANEIGE Artplay Waterproof Liner Review, Swatches, Tutorial!
Korean beauty brand LANEIGE is launching 6 liquid liner duos this November (not September sorry!), that had us beauty bloggers cooing at a recent event. (I’ll write more on the Silk Intense Lipstick shades and the BB compact in another post.)
These felt tip liners all come in two coordinated shades, with one end sparkly and one end metallic/dark. These include:
No. 1: Edgy Black & StarNight Black
No. 2: Sparkling Brown & Real Brown
No. 3: Snow White & Sherbet Pink
No. 4: Turquoise Blue & Navy Unlimited
No. 5: Real Purple & Ideal Silver
I was given No. 6, the Forever Khaki & Deep Green duo, so I’m doing a demo to show you the color intensity, finish, and some ideas on how you can play with these! (Well if you’re just interested in recreating the liner look, read on for the tutorials as well.)
Firstly, I love the format. I love the fact that you get two colors, so you get to choose which one you want to wear depending on the occasion, AND you can use them together for different looks and effects too.
Next, the fact that they come with felt tips which makes them easier to handle if you’re new at this or have shaky hands. In the swatch image above, I applied both shades in a single stroke, vs two strokes, so you can see how the color builds up. The sparkly ones are sheerer and can be blended out as eyeshadow bases. The metallics and cremes go on opaque in on stroke.
Lastly, these things are really smudge-proof once they set. No guarantees if you have oily lids though… (Unfortunately, oil breaks down everything after awhile, so your best bet is to blot your lids regularly to prevent that.)
LOOK 1: Simple duo-color liner
LOOK 2: Dramatic Evening Swallowtail Look
Note: Remember to extend the lower liner into a shorter flick at the outer corners. Flick horizontally out, not downwards!
Finish with mascara. If you want you can add a little beige or white liner to the inner rims of the lower lash line as well.
